Official Announcement: FC Frederick Girls Join the Girls Academy Aspire League!
FC Frederick is thrilled to announce its official acceptance into the Girls Academy — bringing national-level girls' soccer competition to Frederick County and Western Maryland for the very first time.
After a rigorous application process, FC Frederick has been formally welcomed into GA Aspire, the tier-two league of the Girls Academy (GA) — one of the most respected youth development platforms for female soccer players in the United States. Beginning with the 2026–27 season, FC Frederick's top girls' teams (U13–U19) will compete in GA Aspire league play, regional showcases, and national events.
For our players and families, this is a landmark moment. The Western Maryland to West Virginia corridor has had no Girls Academy presence — until now. FC Frederick's acceptance fills that gap and ensures that elite girls in Frederick County have access to the same national-stage opportunities as clubs in the greater DC metro area.
What is GA Aspire? GA Aspire is the performance-driven, tier-two platform of the Girls Academy — a merit-based league designed to elevate player development and create a structured pathway toward the GA's top tier. Clubs must meet strict competitive, operational, and developmental benchmarks to gain entry. Participation provides increased exposure to college coaches through regional and national showcases, and positions players within the broader Girls Academy ecosystem.
Why this matters for FC Frederick
FC Frederick's girls' program has a proud 30-year tradition of developing student-athletes and sending players to the collegiate level across all three NCAA divisions. Joining GA Aspire is the natural next step — a recognition of what our club has built and a commitment to where we are going.

What comes next
FCF's GA Aspire teams will compete in the U13–U19 age groups beginning in the 2026–27 season. tryouts for the upcoming season will be held in May 2026. All players are encouraged to attend — this is an exciting opportunity to be part of something truly special in Frederick County.
