FC Frederick Names Colin Viti as Senior Boys Director
Frederick, MD – October 14, 2024 – FC Frederick is excited to announce Colin Viti as the new Senior Boys Director, overseeing the club’s U16-U19 boys programs. Viti, a former FC Frederick player and long-time coach, steps into the role following the departure of Chris Spinks, who held the position for the past 11 years.
Viti has been a vital part of FC Frederick for over two decades, first as a player and now as a coach. He has been coaching within the club for the past eight years, developing players across various age groups and serving as the Head Coach of FC Frederick’s CCL Pro23 team. He is currently the Head Coach of the 2007 Boys team and an Assistant Coach with FC Frederick’s NPSL squad. Viti holds a USSF "C" License and is pursuing his USSF "B" License to continue advancing his coaching credentials.
Reflecting on his appointment, Viti said:
"I’m incredibly excited and honored to take on this role. FC Frederick has been my home for so many years, first as a player and now as a coach. I look forward to building on the strong foundation of our Senior Boys Program and helping our players achieve their goals on and off the field."
Chris Spinks, Viti's predecessor, expressed his confidence in Viti’s ability to lead the program:
"Colin has a deep understanding of FC Frederick’s philosophy and values. He’s ready for this role, and I know he’ll continue to develop our players and uphold the standard of excellence we’ve established."
Bo Eskay, FC Frederick’s Executive Director, shared his excitement about Viti’s appointment:
"It’s always special when a former player rises through the ranks and takes on a leadership role within the club. Colin’s passion for the game, his commitment to our club, and his experience at all levels make him the perfect choice to lead our Senior Boys Program. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have him in this role."
Viti’s history with FC Frederick spans from 2003 to 2018 as a player, during which time he competed in and won the MD State Cup (FCF 94 Boys) & Region 1 Presidents Cup (FCF 94 Boys Royal) and reached the National Presidents Cup semifinals. He played for Catoctin High School under Bob Viti and at Hood College under Kenny Putnam, graduating in 2017. In addition to his work with FC Frederick, Viti also spent seven years on the boys’ soccer coaching staff at Middletown High School.
Colin Viti lives in Frederick, MD, where he continues to contribute to the community that shaped his own soccer journey.
