FC Frederick's Academy Program has been called "one of the finest youth development programs of any youth soccer club in the United States." Modeled after the ideals set forth in the USSF National Youth License, players participate in "developmentally appropriate" training activities that are both challenging and fun.

The Academy Director oversees all aspects of the Academy Program, and works with the Director of Coaching to develop and implement curricular goals for all players and coaches. FC Frederick's current Academy Director, Bo Eskay, brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the program.

To join the U6, U8, and U9 programs, players need only sign up, and show up. Evaluations for placement in the U10 and U11 age groups take place each June for the coming year.

  • Coaching: Volunteer coach; oversight by U6 Head Age Group Coach and Academy Director
  • Players: seasonal commitment only (Fall, Spring, or Both)
  • Training: once per week at Urbana area fields
  • Games: 3v3 format, Saturday mornings at Urbana area fields
  • Other: developmentally appropriate curriculum; access to all FCF club services (soccer schools, camps and club picnic)
  • Cost: $100 per season (uniform included)
  * Must be under 8 as of August 1 for the Fall Season
  • Coaching: Volunteer coach; oversight by U8 Head Age Group Coach and Academy Director
  • Players: seasonal commitment only (Fall, Spring, or Both)
  • Training: twice per week at Urbana area fields
  • Games: 5v5 (4 field playes plus GK), Saturday mornings at Urbana area fields
  • Other: developmentally appropriate curriculum; access to all FCF club services (soccer schools, camps and club picnic)
  • Cost: $125 per season (uniform included)
  * Must be under 9 as of August 1 for the Fall Season
  • Coaching: Volunteer coach; oversight by U9 Head Age Group Coach and Academy Director
  • Players: seasonal commitment only (Fall, Spring, or Both)
  • Training: twice per week at Urbana area fields
  • Games: 6v6 (5 field playes plus GK), Saturday mornings at Urbana area fields
  • Events: ScrimmageFest (Fall & Spring)
  • Other: developmentally appropriate curriculum; SkillsFest, access to all FCF club services (soccer schools, camps and club picnic)
  • Cost: $150 per season (uniform included)
  * Must be under 10 as of August 1 for the Fall Season
  • Coaching: FCF Staff Coach; oversight by U10 Head Age Group Coach and Academy Director
  • Teams: Five (5) girls teams (50 roster spots); five (5) boys teams (50 roster spots); semi-flighted teams, year-long commitment
  • Training: twice per week at FC Frederick area fields
  • League: WAGS, NCSL, CMSSL, ODSL or other appropriate small-sided league based on team level
  • Events: ScrimmageFest (Fall & Spring); Small-Sided Shootout (Fall), Tournaments (Fall & Spring)
  • Other: developmentally appropriate curriculum; SkillsFest, access to all FCF club services (soccer schools, camps and club picnic)
  • Cost: $695 per year (plus uniform kit $70)
